The "old" and the new school.................
View on Berur school as it is today.
It all started with the support to Berur Primary School.
There were some bags of cement left over from another project. We brought it to Berur School because we knew that there were no floors in the classrooms made of waste wood. And than, when you happen to pass there........ In the course of a year, all classrooms were fitted out with cement floors. But even than, during the rainy season, the wind was howling through the walls of the classrooms. During the dry season, dust was creeping through the cracks of the walls, made out of waste wood. And so one thing leads to another.....
Thanks to "Kenya naar School", the school has since 2007 a library, ablution blocks and 8 new classrooms. A huge improvement compared to the "old" school!
The support to Berur School provided the opportunity to do this more and more often. As a result the "Kenya naar School" Foundation was set up.
Now we will start with assisting Seiyo Secondary School. Are you joining us to help the school?
Here is the handwritten letter, written by the Head of Berur school in 2004, in which he sets out the history and difficulties of the School.
